The Because Of Our Tomorrow (BOOT) Party strongly condemned the recent killings of travellers in Uromi, Edo state. The party demands that government takes immediate action to ensure that justice is served for the victims and their families.
BOOT Party emphasises that the government must not only conduct thorough investigations into these tragic incidents but also enforce stringent measures against perpetrators. In addition, we call on public institutions to step up efforts in educating citizens about the grave dangers of resorting to jungle justice.
Public awareness campaigns are essential to inform communities that vigilante actions carry severe consequences and that the rule of law must prevail. BOOT Party asserts that a clear message needs to be sent: the law is unwavering in its stance against extrajudicial actions, and any deviation from legal procedures undermines societal order and the rights of all citizens.
There is an urgent need of restoring public confidence in national criminal and legal systems by holding accountable those responsible for these heinous acts. BOOT Party insists that only through transparent and lawful processes can justice truly be achieved, paving the way for a safer tomorrow.
The BOOT Party's appeal serves as a call to action for both the government and the general public. It is a reminder that while the desire for swift justice is understandable, it is imperative that all measures remain within the boundaries of the law to prevent further erosion of civil order.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families.
